Director of Operations (IDD)

Job Summary

Lehigh Human Support Services is seeking an experienced Director of Operations (IDD) to oversee the management and compliance of our residential programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This leadership role is responsible for ensuring program quality, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IDD services, leadership, and program administration.

Key Responsibilities

Program Oversight & Compliance

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight of residential programs, ensuring compliance with ODP (6100 & 6400 regulations) and company policies.
  • Ensure homes are maintained in compliance with state licensing and regulatory requirements, including safety, cleanliness, and documentation.
  • Conduct internal audits, prepare for licensing inspections, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure all required documentation, including individual records, medication administration logs, financial records, fire drills, and daily logs, are accurate and up to date.

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Directly supervise Residential Program Managers and ensure the effective oversight of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and performance management of residential staff.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, implement training programs, and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and corrective action as needed to maintain high-quality service delivery.
  • Individual-Centered Care & Advocacy

  • Oversee the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISPs) to promote meaningful, person-centered outcomes.
  • Ensure individuals receive high-quality care, including support with daily living activities, community integration, and personal growth.
  • Monitor and advocate for individuals' needs, including medical appointments, therapeutic services, and social activities.
  • Ensure proper administration and oversight of medication management protocols.
  • Operational & Financial Management

  • Ensure effective scheduling and staffing coverage across all residential sites, optimizing resources while maintaining compliance.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, expenses, and financial documentation related to residential services.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of program vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Crisis Management & On-Call Responsibilities

  • Serve as an on-call resource on a rotating basis to address urgent matters and provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate response to emergencies, incidents, and program challenges.
  • Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in IDD residential services or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Regulations : Strong understanding of ODP (6100 & 6400) licensing regulations and compliance standards.
  • Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead, train, and develop teams while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with staff, individuals, families, and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR), Microsoft Office, and data management systems .
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Dual Diagnosis Certification (MH / IDD) management.
  • Experience with behavioral support planning and crisis intervention.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and positive behavior supports (PBS) .
