What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Lehigh Lawn & Landscaping, Inc.?
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy snow removal machinery, including skid loaders, backhoes, and skid steers, to clear roads, sidewalks, and designated areas
- Ensure equipment is maintained, safely operated, and cleaned post-operation
- Respond promptly to on-call alerts for snow events and maintain availability 24/7 during the season
- Communicate effectively with team members and site managers to meet client expectations
- Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment checks to ensure safety and functionality
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery, particularly in snow removal or similar settings
- Valid NY driver's license with an insurable driving record
- Ability to work on-call and respond quickly to unpredictable snow events
- Optional experience with backhoes, excavators, and skid steers (preferred but not required)
