Specialty Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Specialty Registered Nurse (SRN) is a highly skilled and dedicated professional responsible for delivering exceptional patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This individual will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Job Description:
As a SRN in the ICU, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of your practice. Your duties will include:
- Conducting thorough assessments of patients to identify their unique needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, while monitoring patients' responses and adjusting care plans accordingly.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Providing education and support to patients and their families to promote optimal health outcomes.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient care, including progress notes and medication administration records.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions quickly. You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of patient confidentiality and respect, while upholding the values of quality, compassion, and community that are core to our organization.
Instructions:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A current and valid state RN license.
- A current BLS certificate upon hire and maintenance of current certification.
- Completion of a Critical Care Course or equivalent experience preferred.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- A current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintenance of current certification.
- At least one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, with critical care experience preferred.
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred but not required.
