JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Finance Assistant
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
SUMMARY
The Finance Assistant will support day-to-day finance transactions, including payment processing, maintaining cost reports and managing invoices. Under the direction of the Chief Finance Officer, the Finance Assistant will closely monitor LVAS financial health, performance and implement recommendations to use resources beneficially.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Scan, file, and log account documents.- Check and update ledger balances.
- Maintain corporate checking accounts and invoices.
- Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers, and customers as necessary.
- Process payments.
- Provide administrative support.
- Record accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Track and reconcile bank statements.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Positive Credit Rating
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, practices, and policies
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to creatively resolve problems
- FBI fingerprint (as required), PA Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, Drug Screen, Physical
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Bookkeeping/Ledger experience
HOURS OF WORK/COMPENSATION
Full or Part time, can include weekends
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and work instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers and staff.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must Complete 20 Hours of training annually
