What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Lehigh Valley Children's Centers?
LVCC is seeking a focused, detailed oriented, and accuracy driven accountant with advanced Excel and Access experience and strong computer skills. The ideal candidate ensures that all deadlines and tasks are completed on time and accurately with a desire to learn and be part of a team that wants to improve operations in a growing nonprofit company.
General Responsibilities
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
- Analyze and audit general ledger accounts throughout the year
- Prepares monthly reconciliation of various cash and investment accounts
- Responsible for detailed records for prepaid expenses, insurance, petty cash, inventory, and other accounts including journal entries throughout the year
- Responsible for the depreciation schedules and fixed asset details throughout the year including journal entries.
- Assist in design and maintaining inventory system of food and kitchen supplies at central food kitchen and child care centers including reports, journal entries, and auditing procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency at all times.
- Prepare bank reconcilations .
- Responsible for record keeping and auditing of large grants.
- Responsible for bookkeeping and financials a small nonprofit using QuickBooks Pro.
- Assist with Accounts Receivable and Collection tasks.
- Backup for fiscal management needed.
- Assist CFO and other fiscal staff on various projects when needed.
Job Requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting with excellent computer skills needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Pro and experience with Mas90 a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A multi-tasker with strong analytical and problem solving abilities with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Accuracy driven and the ability to prioritize.
- Supervisor experience a plus.
