Job Description
Job Title: Recovery Support Specialist (CRS) for Plan of Safe Care Program in Lehigh County
Reporting Responsibility: This position reports directly to the Plan of Safe Care Coordinator
Job Requirements: Valid PA Driver’s license; insured and registered vehicle; mandatory travel within the local community to agencies, client’s homes etc.; flexible hours to meet client needs; a GED or diploma; personal recovery experience, valid CRS certification and MUST have experience working with women/family who struggles with substance use disorder; case management experience within the field of drug and alcohol/mental health preferred.
Job Duties:
o Orients new clients to services, policies, and procedures.
o Advocates for individual and family needs with substance use professionals, doctors, mental health professionals, legal entities, and others within the general community.
o Provides: mentoring, modeling, and skill building to enhance and strengthen recovery efforts.
o Introduces and links clients to various recovery support options within the general community.
o Assists with problem solving and resource acquisition as needed to remove obstacles to treatment and recovery and/or to enhance and strengthen recovery efforts.
o Links to local resources when needed and when clients are eligible; childcare, rental assistance, transportation such as bus passes, food, education, etc.
o Facilitates pre-recovery groups with new clients such as introducing them to mutual aid groups.
o Educates clients about the treatment process, recovery support group options, provider rules, client rights etc.
o Will work with pregnant women, self referrals on an assigned basis. Will submit regular progress reports to coordinator/team.
o Meets with clients in the office, and within the community.
o Maintains a caseload as assigned by supervisor. Full-time caseloads will not exceed 30 and part-time will not exceed 15.
o Conducts recovery support services assessments and develops recovery plans with all clients every six months.
o Maintains client files as per LVDAIU and state policies.
o Maintains detailed records of all client appointments and contacts via DAP format in the LVDAIU database. Enters DAP notes in the database within seventy-two hours.
o Enters all data within established time frames.
o Attends trainings relevant to the required continuing education hours as set forth by the state.
o Attends trainings at the recommendation of supervisor and as self-identified.
o Interfaces with various community agencies in a professional manner.
o Submits all paperwork in a timely manner
o Demonstrates effective interviewing skills.
o Maintains a productivity level of at least 50-75%.
o Works independently and autonomously.
o Preforms related duties as directed by Coordinator
o Will participate in weekly individual supervision as required by LVDAIU and the state.
o Will participate in monthly scheduled group supervisions as required by LVDAIU and the state.
o Will be available for additional individual and group supervisions as needed and directed by supervisor.
o Is a Certified Recovery Specialist in good standing with the certification board and possess a valid certification.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
