Summary
Provides advanced levels of equipment and / or departmental service and support. Performs preventive maintenance, quality assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and general maintenance on biomedical, clinical data / network systems, and related technologies.
Job Duties
- Completes the preventive maintenance (PM) workload to achieve a consistently high level of PM compliance over time.
- Reviews, modifies, develops, and implements written preventive maintenance manuals and quality assurance testing procedures for medical equipment.
- Reviews incident reports related to equipment malfunction or misuse and takes appropriate actions to ensure patient safety.
- Leads new equipment evaluations, acquisitions, and installations.
- Obtains quotes through current requisition processes and works with technical specifications related to bids and capital purchases.
- Exercises proper judgment in evaluating the extent / source of repairs on malfunctioning equipment and determines the course of action needed to cost–effectively maximize equipment uptime.
- Seeks out best value products and labor and parts sources in order to minimize the total cost of service to the organization.
- Provides in–service training to other clinical engineering service technicians.
