The Position: As a successful Auto Sales Consultant with Lehighton Ford, you must be able to finalize a sale with a high percentage of customers who walk into the Dealership. This requires interpersonal, communication, and a keen sensitivity to the customer’s wants and needs. You must also be able to generate your own prospects and bring them into the Dealership. Prospecting requires self-discipline and persistence on a regular basis and an ability to deal with people. If you can quickly introduce yourself to a stranger and establish common ground and rapport, you are on your way to a sale!

Job Responsibilities:
In this exciting role, you will be greeting potential buyers warmly and enthusiastically and establishing common ground and rapport to uncover their needs and wants. Your primary goal is to meet the customer’s needs on a specific car and explain the features and benefits that the buyer is interested in. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Completing a customer "needs assessment".
  • Demonstrating the vehicle.
  • Selling the dealership and the product.
  • Assist the customer with the order process; negotiating the sale; writing the order.
  • Delivering the vehicle.
  • Following up with all Prospects and Owners.
  • Generating referrals and repeat business.
  • Provide outstanding customer service which generates repeat customers and referrals for the dealership.
  • Treat all customers, teammates, and vendors with dignity and respect.

Key skills/qualities to be successful in this position:
  • Social and Communication Skills - Since Customer contact is so critical, it is essential. that you enjoy talking with people and know how to interpret their needs.
  • A previous track record of success in a consultative, commission-based sales role is a plus.
  • Demonstrated customer development and retention skills.
  • Proven ability to accomplish business goals and objectives.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent networking and prospecting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A competitive nature.
  • A positive influence who upholds ethical values.
  • Must be Goal-oriented, ambitious, and results-driven – a self-starter.
  • Must be positive, social, energetic, customer-focused.
  • Must possess the desire and ability to learn, as well as demonstrate personal responsibility.
  • Attendance is an essential function of employment and you must be timely and ready to work your scheduled shifts.
  • Must be reliable, demonstrate good time management, and adhere to the highest quality standards as set by the dealership management.
  • Must have a positive attitude, be honest and trustworthy.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and clean driving record.
