Fuel Technician Responsibilities
- Perform refueling as well as add DEF fluid (but not limited) to: Caterpillar, Vogele, Komatsu, and John Deere heavy equipment, miscellaneous small engine equipment, crew service truck tanks, and any related construction/mining/plant equipment.
- Communicate with logistics and operations teams regarding equipment needs and fluid level status.
- Coordinate daily scheduling with operations team to ensure all equipment is fueled in a timely manner.
- Perform safety, operational, and mechanical inspections of the equipment.
- Operate a fuel truck on job locations, including construction, mining and plant sites.
- Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
- Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping in company vehicles and repair facilities.

Fuel Technician Requirements
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience (preferred) on refueling of heavy, earth-moving equipment, paving equipment and/or related equipment.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL class A)
- Currently possess or ability to obtain Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements.
- Knowledge in the use of computer/phone-based apps.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to obtain an MSHA Part 46 Certificate (5000-23).
- Maintain safe and secure work environment by complying with government standards and regulations.
Work Conditions/ Physical Requirements
- Physical Demands:
- Ability to work the following schedule: day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours and weekends).
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to: safety boots/shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, kneeling, stooping, crawling, and handling of materials.
- Reach for, handle, and manipulate objects, tools and materials.
- Average or better vision (either naturally or with correction).
- Push, pull, lift, or move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to see details in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Environmental Conditions:
- Often works outside exposed to environmental elements.
- May be exposed to high levels of noise, grease, dust, and a variety of substances that are typically associated with a construction site.
- Ability to work in safety sensitive environments around large machinery and heavy equipment.
- Be alert and aware of everything going on around the construction area, consistently following safe work practices.
- Be able to tolerate a loud environment.
