Position Overview:
As a Waste Technician, you will be responsible for performing key functions related to the receipt, sampling, and waste transfer of bulk and non-bulk hazardous and non-regulated wastes, as well as performing occasional off-site work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following standard operating procedures and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Receive, inspect, unload, and inventory inbound waste shipments.
- Perform pumping and waste transfer of bulk and non-bulk waste shipments.
- Perform sampling and quality checks of inbound and outbound waste shipments and maintain applicable records.
- Maintain a working knowledge of using and maintaining pumping and sampling equipment.
- Maintain a general knowledge and understanding of hazardous waste manifests and other shipping documents.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Perform off-site packaging jobs.
- Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Higher education or trade schooling a plus
- One year minimum of waste pumping or liquid bulking experience required.
- Valid Driver’s License required / Class A or B CDL preferred
- Forklift Operator Certification required
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER training preferred
