Position Summary and Overview

The Director, Human Resources will lead strategy and execution of the HR function at Leica Biosystems site in Richmond, IL. This role will collaborate with manufacturing operations, distribution, and some global functional leadership to advance talent strategies and cultural excellence. This role will optimize relationships among associates, managers, and leadership by providing comprehensive counseling on topics such as organizational design, training and development, performance management, and compliance with labor laws.

Leveraging data and analytics, they will provide insights for continuous improvement in HR practices, contributing to business growth and a high-performing culture by developing and implementing talent strategies and initiatives that attract, grow, and retain diverse top-tier leadership. This includes identifying and nurturing potential leaders through development programs and succession planning.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Strategic HR Planning : Utilizing data and key insights, support development and execution of the HR Strategy that supports the company's growth and operational goals, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning : Partner with management and Talent Management and Acquisition COEs to develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top talent, with an eye on diversity, in the medical device industry.
  • Enhance Organizational Culture : Identify and implement initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness, improving the structure, systems, and environment within a company to create a more efficient, effective, and positive workplace.
  • Organizational Effectiveness : Enhance leadership skills, manage performance processes, coach leaders on tough conversations, and coach leaders on performance improvement and development planning processes.
  • Employee Relations and Compliance : Manage and resolve complex employee relations and compliance issues through thorough, objective investigations using a systematic approach.
  • HRBP Leadership and Development : Lead and develop Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs), ensuring they have the skills and resources needed to effectively support their client groups; provide mentorship and guidance to enhance their professional growth and effectiveness within the organization.

Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required, master's degree in business, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, or related field preferred.
  • 8 years of HR experience leading in human resources and / or business partnerships.
  • Ability to synthesize business data and develop innovative and holistic HR solutions that are forward-thinking and innovative. Strong intuition for business and ability to apply human capital implications.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote an inclusive work environment and support workforce diversity.
  • Solid team skills, the ability to build relationships, and be able to work efficiently and effectively with associates at all levels of the organization. Strong understanding / application of organizational change and process excellence principles.
  • Language(s) : English fluency a must; Spanish preferred but not necessary

    Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical / Environment Requirements : Limited travel required

    The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $150,000 - 175,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

    This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay.
