What are the responsibilities and job description for the Extended School Year - Occupational Therapist position at Leicester Public Schools?
The summer programs run between July 1st - August 7th for 6 week programs and July 7th - August 1st for 4 week programs from 8:30 to 11:30 M, T,W,TH
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in the identification of students who are at risk of performing below grade level in English Language Arts and/or Mathematics.
2. Effectively consult with general education teachers regarding learning needs of special education students, and modify and adapt the curricula, materials, and physical environment to meet the needs of individual students.
3. Identify, develop plan, and administer targeted interventions to identified students.
4. Within inclusion or in small group setting, provide teamed, small group or individualized instruction and/or academic support according to the general and specific goals outlined in students' Individualized Education Program and prepare/manage instructional materials required for intervention program.
5. Work with individual students or small groups for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts and assisting students in reaching their targeted academic goals and grade-level standards.
6. Complete diagnostic academic testing (formal/informal) as required
7. Keep student records and prepare required reports.
8. Adhere to the appropriate code of ethics and student confidentiality.
9. Participate in IEP Team meetings for students assigned or newly referred and develop/write goals and objectives for assigned students, including progress reports, within required timelines.
10. Act as Case Manager for designated students, providing close communication with parents and staff and preparing progress reports, annual review narratives and individual education plans.
