Material Handler (Deep Gap, NC)
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Material Handler to join our dynamic team. As a Warehouse Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials and products in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Your primary goal will be to ensure the accurate and timely handling of goods to support our warehouse operations and maintain inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely load, unload, and move materials and products within the warehouse using manual methods and powered equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
· Assist in inventory tracking, including the accurate labeling, scanning, and storing of materials and products. Ensure proper rotation and organization of stock.
· Pick, pack, and prepare materials and products for shipping according to customer orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper placement of materials in designated storage areas.
· Assist with receiving incoming shipments, verifying shipment contents, and inspecting for damage. Prepare outgoing shipments and ensure proper documentation is completed.
· Follow all safety protocols and warehouse procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Report safety hazards or concerns immediately.
· Work closely with other warehouse staff and departments to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
· Operate warehouse machinery and equipment safely and report any maintenance or repair needs.
Education, Qualifications & Experience
· High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Prior warehouse or material handling experience is a plus but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
· Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 65 pounds regularly.
· Basic math skills and attention to detail.
· Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning systems is a plus.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
· Forklift certification or other warehouse equipment operation certifications are desirable but not required.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
The physical demands of this position include sitting, using hands to type, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talking, or hearing. The role frequently requires standing and walking. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 65 lbs. regularly. The position will involve working in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures and conditions.
