The Strategic Programs office is seeking a qualified Cable Engineer for its Hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (C-HGB). The C-HGB is the Army’s #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires and will counter and gain a lead on our adversaries' technological advances in this field, come join us in this exciting, cutting-edge field.
Primary Responsibilities. The successful candidate will serve as a Cable Engineer that will handle all aspects of cabling leading to production of Hypersonic Glide Bodies (HGB). Knowledge of electrical systems with emphasis on high speed signal integrity, cabling, connectors (MIL 83513), shielding, production methods, test methods and materials. Specific duties will include review of HGB system documentation to assess cabling requirements, review existing cable drawings for correctness, assist in preparation of RFP for cable manufacturing to include parts management, quality, documentation, test requirements, provide supplier surveillance during manufacturing and testing, support cable related installation and testing during AI&T production process, and assist with Technical Data Package documentation of HGB cables. In addition, the candidate will need to write/issue Non-Conformance
Reports and address quality issues with the cable manufacturer. Work will be conducted in an integration/production facility along with a laboratory environment. Travel to cable manufacturer and other production facilities as necessary.
Basic Qualifications. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school is required. Candidate should have at least 4 years of relevant experience.

The ideal candidate would have experience in electronics/avionics/environmental testing and have a current DoD Secret clearance.
Security Requirements
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

- Knowledge of MIL standards for cables
- Knowledge of IPC-620 standards for cables
- Knowledge of cable fabrication
- Knowledge of cable drawing standards
- Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP) and support production and test of HGB cables
