The Mission Solutions Business Area at Leidos is seeking a Chief Scientist for our Reston, VA location. The primary focus of the group is reverse engineering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) related facilities. Candidate must bring a technically sound multi-disciplinary approach to identifying and solving challenges where all the information desired is inherently unavailable. The successful candidate will lead technical members of an interdisciplinary team of government and contractor personnel. Work will be performed in a fast-paced, high-energy environment within a government facility.
Role and Responsibility :
- Provide technical execution and development oversight of subordinate staff supporting a wide variety of research and development (R&D) projects as well as operations and maintenance (O&M) analytic projects.
- Resolve highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project / program. Lead the development of highly innovative products / solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts.
- Coordinate with the production coordination staff, fellow technical chiefs, portfolio managers, and the Deputy Program Manager for Technical Capabilities to manage resources assigned to current projects.
- Work within the team to explore technical solutions to current and emerging challenges and opportunities for optimization of current work.
- Leadership and management functions for your team.
- Brief senior officials regarding technical solutions, capability, and trends.

Pay Range : Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00
