Leidos is looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect to support the United States Space Force (USSF) Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) for the Digital Bloodhound program. This role is ideal for a dedicated leader and inventive problem-solver who excels in delivering exceptional results in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. As the Cloud Solutions Architect, you will collaborate closely with the USSF / SSC's SZWO / Defensive Cyber Operations-Space (DCO-S) organization to facilitate timely data-driven decisions, enhancing operational flexibility and efficiency in delivering cybersecurity solutions that safeguard the USSF's Operational Enterprise.
Key Responsibilities :
Analyze and design hybrid cloud-based environments tailored for DCO-S initiatives, prioritizing applications for high availability and disaster recovery.
Integrate new capabilities and models into the cloud environment effectively.
Establish requirements throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC) for integrating, upgrading, and maintaining the hybrid cloud environment.
Support decisions with well-researched evaluations of options, clearly articulating pros and cons.
Create robust solution architectures and assess architectural alternatives across various hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other services.
Lead the migration of legacy systems to advanced cloud platforms, facilitating smooth transitions into DCO-S solutions.
Design security frameworks throughout the cloud development lifecycle by translating technology and environmental factors into actionable security processes.
Develop security requirements that effectively mitigate risks while underpinning cybersecurity capabilities across the USSF enterprise.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, trends, and emerging technologies, evaluating their implications for DCO-S software development strategies and implementation.
Verify architecture compliance with DCO-S program requirements, participating in technical discussions and assessments.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX / UI designers, and quality assurance, to deliver software solutions aligned with DCO-S requirements and customer expectations.
Communicate security goals and mitigations to USSF Test Enterprise leadership and program managers, balancing cost, schedule, and performance priorities.
Provide updates, reports, and presentations on software development progress and outcomes to stakeholders and senior management.
Implement quality assurance protocols to ensure secure, reliable, and regulation-compliant software solutions.
Promote process automation to enhance efficiency and solution reusability.
Utilize cloud technologies to architect and build scalable and dependable software solutions.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a technical architect in large IT operations or research environments for government and / or private sectors.
Proven knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation principles (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability).
Experience deploying capabilities to DoD Cloud Service Providers, including AWS, Microsoft, Google Support Services, and Oracle.
Familiarity with DevSecOps toolchains and processes, such as Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, NiFi, Spark, PySpark, Dask).
Background in application migration.
Agile development experience.
US Citizenship required.
Possess a Top Secret, SCI-eligible Security Clearance.
Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree in a related field.
Experience in government client environments.
Understanding of security procedures in SCIF / SAPF environments.
Experience in Cloud Security Implementation.
Familiarity with certification programs such as Azure Solutions, Google Professional Cloud, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
This position is located onsite at military installations, emphasizing the need for collaboration and integration with the USSF.
