The Digital Modernization Sector offers a thrilling opportunity for a Cloud Solutions Engineer to support the US Space Force's Space Systems Command (SSC), Operational Command and Control Acquisition Delta, known as Kobayashi Maru. In this critical role, you will play a key part in the development and deployment of essential software for space defense, space domain awareness, and data services. This position involves 80% hands-on tactical engineering and 20% team support, providing a unique blend of responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Design, deploy, and manage virtual cloud infrastructures across hybrid environments, including on-premises and major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud.
- Optimize and maintain virtualization technologies, including VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and cloud-native solutions.
- Automate deployments and configurations using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation, streamlining processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provision, maintain, and scale cloud resources in AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.
- Monitor cloud resource utilization to ensure efficient cost management and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to systems, applications, and infrastructure while performing root cause analysis.
- Ensure infrastructure complies with security, operational standards, and regulatory requirements within a DevSecOps framework.
- Support CI / CD pipelines, incorporating infrastructure automation into the development lifecycle.
- Implement containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for microservices architectures.
- Set up and maintain monitoring tools to guarantee system and application availability and performance.
- Identify and enact optimizations to enhance system efficiency, reduce latency, and improve uptime.
- Apply security best practices, focusing on identity and access management (IAM), network segmentation, and encryption.
- Assist with audits and compliance initiatives, such as RMF, NIST, and ISO 27001.
- Provide Tier-2 / 3 support for escalated issues, collaborating closely with internal teams and vendors.
- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting methodologies to promote knowledge sharing and training.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute positively to team growth and development initiatives.

Pay Range : $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
