Leidos' National Security Sector is seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer - Penetration Testing Specialist to become a vital part of our enterprise IT program. Our team provides technical and thorough penetration testing services to enhance enterprise cybersecurity measures. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in penetration testing and ethical hacking, identifying and assessing vulnerabilities within information systems. Your findings will offer valuable insights to senior decision-makers, helping them make informed strategic investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities :

Document all identified risks, planned test procedures, and results from testing.
Analyze vulnerabilities uncovered during testing to recommend effective mitigations.
Review program-level documentation, including security plans, requirements specifications, and design documents.
Advise on enhancements to documentation to minimize system vulnerabilities.
Develop and execute penetration testing plans, applying hands-on testing methodologies.
Analyze test findings, document risks, and propose countermeasures for mitigated risks.
Lead or participate in technical exchange meetings, capturing key action items and outcomes.
Present management with updates on action items and results from activities.

Required Security Clearance :

Must possess an active TS / SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Essential Experience, Skills, and Education :

Bachelor's degree coupled with 12 years of experience in cyber security or a related IT field; additional experience may substitute for formal education.

Proven track record in cyber penetration testing.

Hands-on experience with computer attack methodologies and system exploitation techniques.

Strong understanding of cyber security principles across Linux, Windows, and virtual platforms.

Experience in designing, testing, or implementing IT security architecture.

Background in performing network security analysis and assessing network architectures.

Experience using network management tools effectively.

Ability to employ adversarial tactics for conducting hands-on security testing.

Experience in developing comprehensive risk management methodologies.

Skilled in analyzing test results to formulate risk and threat mitigation strategies.

Familiarity with testing or reviewing system configurations, particularly for enterprise systems and hypervisors.

Demonstrated experience in managing complex Windows installations.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education :

Active engagement in public and private information security groups and initiatives.

Proficient in communicating vulnerability findings and risk assessments to senior leadership.

Experience in researching and formulating security policies and guidelines.

Adept at executing complex technical tasks with minimal supervision.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
