Description
The Cyber Security Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization's computer systems and networks against cyber threats, theft, and damage. This position requires close collaboration with the IT team and management to establish robust security measures, promptly detect and respond to incidents, and educate staff on safe computer practices.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption, to ensure the protection of computer systems and networks.
- Monitor systems for security threats and respond effectively to incidents in a timely manner.
- Provide training for employees on secure computer usage, emphasizing strong passwords, avoidance of phishing scams, and the importance of reporting security issues.
- Conduct security audits to assess security posture and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging threats, including new malware and phishing tactics.
- Collaborate with the IT team to align security measures with technological needs and enhance protection measures.
- Communicate security risks to management, offering actionable recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safeguard organizational systems and data.
- Possess detailed knowledge of NIST and CNSS cyber security requirements and risk management methods.
