Description
Leidos is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a robust background in construction management to become part of the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team.
This role requires 100% travel (full-time, including weekends), with assignments typically lasting weeks to months. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
As a key player in this position, you will support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Eastern Service Area (ESA) by providing construction oversight for projects supporting Air Traffic Control facilities across the eastern United States and the Caribbean.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure contractors adhere to all FAA Environmental, Safety, and Health policies.
- Supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring work meets the plans and specifications.
- Maintain comprehensive daily records detailing work accomplished, personnel on-site, weather conditions, and other relevant factors.
- Act as the main contact for the general contractor, facilitating effective communication.
- Monitor the construction schedule and review progress reports to inform stakeholders of any issues.
- Discuss any deviations regarding construction materials and procedures with project engineers.
- Participate in construction inspections and contract close-out procedures.
- Prepare sketches, specifications, and independent cost estimates to assist with change proposals.
- Handle project management tasks, including risk management and safety plans.
- Coordinate reviews and work permits for potential hazards like lead and asbestos during the construction process.
