The Leidos Dynetics Sensor Innovation Portfolio is seeking a talented Software Engineer - RF Systems to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex sensor and radar orientated problems. We have offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. This position within Dynetics' Sensor Innovation Portfolio (SIP) affords new or experienced engineers continued opportunities to learn and grow in technical knowledge of sensor and radar systems. The department encourages and frequently incorporates new ideas from all employees into our many sensor projects which span the entire DoD ecosystem. Opportunities for advancement into senior technical roles, as well as project or personnel management are also available.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Candidate will support Advanced Technology Radar and EW programs including software for high-speed data acquisition, data distribution, and real-time signal processing; integration of COTS and custom technologies into prototype sensor systems; field testing of RF sensors and systems; and CONUS / OCONUS deployment of advanced sensor systems.
  • Candidate will be assigned a variety of tasks related to the design and implementation of real-time prototype sensors. You will be exposed to a wide range of software and computer engineering technologies and will have the opportunity to learn from working directly alongside experienced engineers and have direct influence on multiple projects.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess or be in the process of achieving a Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science degree from an ABET-accredited school. A strong demonstration of the skills listed below will also be considered.
  • Candidate must have excellent teamwork skills and possess and show good fundamentals in one or more of the following :
  • Modern C development
  • NVIDIA CUDA GPU development / optimization
  • VHDL / Verilog for FPGA development
  • Real-time Linux and device driver development
  • ZeroMQ and / or other messaging frameworks
  • Qt GUI development
  • Candidate should be able to apply these skills to the areas of radar and EW system development, implementation of digital signal processing and tracking algorithms, and field testing of sensor systems.
  • Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area. This position is in person only.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Matlab, understanding of signal processing fundamentals, such as sampling and Fourier analysis, and knowledge of collaboration and development tools such as GIT, JIRA, and CI / CD pipelines are greatly valued.

    Pay Range : Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

    Salary : $55,250 - $99,875
