We are seeking an Entry-Level Distribution Engineer specializing in electric utility and fiber design engineering. This position will be based in our Orlando office and will start as a temporary role for up to 6 months with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position with Leidos.

In this role, expect to gain :
The Mission
As a successful candidate, you will focus on developing construction work packages for electric distribution and fiber systems utilizing multiple software systems and construction standards. This will involve projects in OH, UG, or URD environments, including joint use make-ready and street light projects. You will leverage tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Aided Design (CAD), Work Management Systems (WMS), and other client systems to create work packages.
Your project work will include engineering calculations such as structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand estimation, transformer sizing, voltage drop calculations, and coordination of protective devices. Responsibilities may also involve preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, developing a Bill of Materials (BOM), cost estimation, and customer engagement concerning easement acquisition. Expect to travel locally by motor vehicle for field investigations at various project locations.

Pay Range : $50,050.00 - $90,475.00. Note that this range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation; factors including responsibilities, experience, knowledge, and skills will influence final offers.
