The ideal candidate will lead a multi-site team of Logistics Coordinators, providing oversight and direction that will lead to superior customer service and efficient inventory movement and utilization.
Position Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a multi-site logistics team in order to ensure orders are processed in a timely and accurate manner to meet customer requirements and established corporate-level service targets.
- Implement the “Right the First Time” mentality throughout the logistics department, focusing on accuracy and attention to detail, thereby minimizing costly errors that might result from shipping incorrect or faulty products to a customer.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of customer specifications and overall requirements.
- Implement inventory management strategies that maximize customer service while at the same minimizing storage and handling costs.
- Relationship owner between the logistics department and other key stakeholders in the supply chain, both internally (Operations, Quality / Food Safety, Finance, Sales) and externally (3rd party storage locations, transportation providers, etc.).
- Develop and maintain departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to ensure the department is operating in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Deliver reports as required or requested to both internal stakeholders as well as external to customers. Handle and coordinate customer claims, returns, responses, etc. as needed.
- Develop high-performance employees and teams to drive business results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- College degree required, preferably with an emphasis in business or agri-business.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably in agri-business or related field is preferred.
- Proven history and background in Customer Service and inventory management
- Must possess a good working knowledge of distribution operations and logistics, as well as information systems, transportation, supply chain management.
- Must be decisive and possess solid communication skills.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems including SAP is preferred.
- Working knowledge and skill in food safety and good manufacturing practices are required.
- Familiarity with the peanuts or food industry preferred
- Ability to multitask and pay close attention to details
- Strong understanding and ability with computer systems and applications including Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
