Leidos is on the lookout for a Network Solutions Engineer to join our innovative team supporting the United States Space Force (USSF). In this vital role, you will help develop software solutions for the Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch, focused on rapid agile development aimed at creating robust defensive cyber solutions. Primary Responsibilities :
Designing and planning comprehensive network systems tailored to meet the organization’s requirements while ensuring efficient data flow and robust network security.
Installing and configuring a range of network hardware including routers, switches, and firewalls, along with setting up networking protocols such as TCP / IP.
Monitoring and managing network performance for seamless operation, which includes regular assessments and adjustments for optimal performance and bandwidth management.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting network issues such as connectivity problems, outages, or slow performance to ensure reliable network functionality.
Implementing network security measures through firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection / prevention systems, along with establishing robust security protocols to safeguard against unauthorized access.
Keeping meticulous records of network configurations, designs, modifications, and resolution steps taken during troubleshooting.
Conducting regular upgrades of network hardware and software, along with preventive maintenance to maintain secure and up-to-date network infrastructure.
Collaborating closely with various IT teams, including system administrators and security engineers, to enhance overall infrastructure security and optimization.
Basic Qualifications :
US Citizenship.
Possession of an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM or engineering discipline with 5 years of relevant experience OR a Master's Degree in the same areas with 3 years of relevant experience.
Certification in JNCDA, JNCDS-DC, JNCDS-SEC, CCNA, or equivalent is required.
Preferred Qualifications :
A Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility) is highly preferred.
