Leidos is on the lookout for a talented Proposal Development Specialist to play a pivotal role in business development and capture activities within our Health and Civil Sector.
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to research and craft various proposal sections, including executive summaries, technical content, management strategies, and past performance narratives. You'll collaborate closely with a diverse team of professionals, including Capture Managers, Solution Architects, Program Managers, and technical experts, to produce compelling and compliant content for white papers, proposals, and additional related tasks supporting Leidos' Federal Health clientele.
As a successful candidate, you will work efficiently with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to grasp complex technical concepts (such as software development, cloud hosting, cybersecurity, AI / ML, data analytics, etc.) quickly. You will be expected to operate autonomously, with pride in delivering top-notch written documents in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
This position is based at Leidos Headquarters in Reston, Virginia, and may involve occasional travel to other Leidos locations like Gaithersburg, MD for significant proposal initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities :
Engage with Solution Architects and SMEs to document technical concepts, develop responses, and convey solutions clearly to diverse audiences.
Collaborate with Capture Managers, Solution Architects, Program Managers, and Volume Leads to ensure proposal responses are well-aligned with requirements.
Coordinate across departments as necessary to bolster proposal activities.
Take charge of designated proposal volumes, ensuring high-quality written responses that adhere to deadlines.
Actively participate in team brainstorming sessions to articulate strategies, solutions, experience, win themes, and unique differentiators.
Maintain document version control.
Edit and review documents (Microsoft Word and PowerPoint) focusing on formatting, grammar, and overall response quality.
Incorporate feedback from various reviewers and manage the status of those comments effectively.
Propose and implement process improvements aimed at enhancing proposal quality across the Business Area.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with 6 years of experience.
Proven experience as a writer throughout all phases of proposals responding to Federal Government solicitations, with a solid understanding of technical topics.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; basic knowledge of SharePoint repositories is also beneficial.
Experience with tools like VisibleThread and PleaseReview is a plus.
Exceptional writing, communication, and organizational skills.
A strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement and growth.
Quick adaptability to highly technical concepts and a willingness to learn.
Basic Qualifications :
Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision and dedication to meeting deadlines, including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
Self-motivated individual capable of independently working across geographically dispersed teams.
Willingness to assist colleagues and provide back-up support through cross-training.

Pay Range :
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
