Join Leidos as a R&D Chemical and Mechanical Engineer and play a pivotal role in advancing our research and development efforts within the Propulsion Development Branch at the DEVCOM Armaments Center. You will be instrumental in innovative product and process development, working at our Picatinny Arsenal, NJ facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research to design and develop new products and processes while using cutting-edge engineering principles.
- Transform customer requirements into technical solutions, performing trade studies and developing detailed specifications.
- Design, develop, and manufacture prototypes, while also managing laboratory and field testing phases.
- Analyze test data to create comprehensive technical reports and make informed recommendations based on your findings.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and stakeholders, leveraging your interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication and teamwork.
- Utilize statistical analysis, modeling, and simulation tools to evaluate production and performance challenges.
- Document and report technical information to senior engineers and other relevant officials.
- Prepare for regular out-of-state travel to project sites, involving various physical activities.
The work environment includes primarily an office setting, with approximately 50% of time spent on-site at various project locations.
