Leidos is looking for a skilled Senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team. In this role, you will play a key part in an expansive digital modernization program that is vital to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and various Department of Defense (DoD) Fourth Estate Agencies. Primary Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain advanced virtual desktop infrastructures within Azure IL5 and IL6 cloud environments, ensuring seamless connectivity with DoD Fourth Estate Agency environments.
Support the creation and upkeep of privileged access workstations (PAW).
Manage VDI resource pools effectively in Azure IL5 and IL6 settings.
Create tailored virtual desktop images for diverse DoD agencies.
Monitor and resolve issues within the VDI infrastructure, collaborating closely with Tier 1-2 support personnel.
Identify and drive improvements, fostering innovations in the VDI domain to enhance user experience, streamline operations, and reduce sustainment costs.
Uphold security best practices by applying your in-depth knowledge of security policies, network security, and data protection.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6-10 years of experience.
An active DoD Secret clearance or higher is mandatory for this position. (US Citizenship required)
Proven expertise in designing, building, and maintaining VDI environments such as Azure Virtual Desktop, VMware Horizon, Amazon Workspace, Citrix, or similar platforms.
Understanding of federal application, server, and network security requirements including NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA.
Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a distributed technical team.
Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence.
Current IAT Level II (or higher) Certification such as Security or CISSP.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience delivering VDI solutions for U.S. Government clients.
Recognized certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty or VMware Certified Professional - End-User Computing.
