The Digital Modernization sector within Leidos is seeking a proactive Systems Engineering and Architecture Specialist to join our team under the Global Solution Management - Operations II (GSM-O II) contract. This vital contract entails Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair, and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) as part of the DOD Information Network (DODIN), supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Additionally, the role plays a key role in transforming DISA's mission through innovative solutions and support to DISA's mission partners.
This position allows the flexibility of virtual work, but candidates should reside within driving distance of Fort Meade, MD or Scott AFB, IL, as in-office presence will be required at times.
As the Systems Engineering and Architecture Specialist , you will take charge of the functional and technical design of solutions within the Global Management System (GMS) Innovations portfolio. This entails leading the technical design of solution components and crafting system and technical requirements to support customer-facing capabilities in a Data-Driven, AI-ready, cloud-based environment. Join a fast-paced, Agile team dedicated to creating cutting-edge solution designs and managing requirements across multiple GMS Innovation portfolios.
Your responsibilities will include understanding current processes and designing innovative technical solutions to enhance the network’s reliability, security, performance, and agility. You will derive and author functional, technical, performance, security, and availability requirements while continuously innovating based on feedback and key performance metrics to showcase success.
Key Responsibilities include :
- Creating technical solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Overseeing the implementation of solutions to ensure stakeholder requirements are met.
- Providing recommendations and alternatives for solutions through prototype development.
- Engaging in technology selection and analyzing environmental constraints.
- Developing roadmaps that guide solution progression.
- Acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical contributors.
- Collaborating with process owners and stakeholders to refine designs and approaches.
- Applying system engineering principles to conduct analysis and diagnostics across various activities.
- Working collaboratively with End Users, Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and other key roles.
- Employing a structured approach to technical planning, design, execution, and maintenance.
- Defining specifications for hardware and software compatibility.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of documentation and models.
- Leading the creation of comprehensive business process maps.
- Monitoring and resolving technical challenges and variances.
- Authoring and executing User Acceptance strategies for new deployments.
- Providing leadership in proposal responses as needed.

This role offers a competitive salary range of $104,650.00 - $189,175.00. Leidos evaluates compensation based on a variety of factors including job responsibilities, experience, and qualifications.
