The Digital Modernization sector within Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineering Architect . This role supports the Global Solution Management - Operations II (GSM-O II) contract focused on the Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair, and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Additionally, you will play a vital role in driving DISA's operational transformation through innovation and support for mission partners.
This position requires candidates to reside within driving distance of Fort Meade, MD or Scott AFB, IL, as in-office presence may be necessary.
The Systems Engineering Architect will lead the functional and technical design of solutions in the Global Management System (GMS) Innovations portfolio. You will manage the technical design of solution components and develop essential system and technical requirements for customer-focused capabilities in a cloud-based, data-driven, and AI-ready environment. You will collaborate with an Agile team to create innovative solutions and manage requirements across various GMS Innovation portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop technical strategies, solutions, and systems that align with business objectives.
- Oversee the solution implementation lifecycle to ensure stakeholder needs are met.
- Provide alternative solutions and create solution prototypes.
- Participate in technology selection and assess changes in technology environments.
- Develop solutions roadmaps.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with technical leads and process owners to refine designs and approaches.
- Utilize engineering principles to conduct analysis, requirement definitions, and solution design.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including End Users, Software Engineers, and DevOps Engineers.
- Employ a systematic approach in planning, design, execution, and sustainment.
- Define parameters for system specifications and ensure compatibility.
- Contribute to developing and maintaining systems engineering documentation.
- Lead the creation of business process maps using standardized methodologies.
- Provide input to improve operational processes and standards.
- Monitor and report on technical variances to ensure project objectives are met.
- Quickly adapt to customer workflows and processes.
- Develop and execute User Acceptance strategies and plans for deployment.
- Support the resolution of technical challenges during the project lifecycle.
- Exemplify problem-solving, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Assist with business proposals as needed.
