Leidos is excited to announce an opening for a Transport Operations Network Security & Information Assurance Engineer position on the Service Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) Contract. Join our innovative team to support the mission of the largest IT services program for the United States Navy, the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI). We are in search of a skilled Network Security & Information Assurance Engineer with proficiency in a range of network security technologies, including Firewalls, DMZ, IPS, and VPN. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust global network security solutions that are essential for our operations.
What You'll Get to Do :
You will play a key role in providing expert guidance and support for network modification, design, integration, testing, and security for the NMCI network. Collaborate with the Network Operations Center, Network Administrators, and Transport Operations Network Engineering Team to enhance and improve :
- Network Security Appliances (e.g., IPS, DMZ, VPN, Firewalls, Load Balancers)
- Testing, validation of automation, and integration of best practices
- Development of Network Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs)
- Continuous Service Improvements (CSI)
- System performance tuning and enhancements
- Creation and maintenance of Engineering Implementation Plans (EIP)
You will also play a vital role in planning and executing network upgrades and maintenance activities in collaboration with the NMCI Operations Manager, NOC Lead, and Release Management team. Take on Tier III escalation support and engage with vendors to address Incident Management activities. Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis for Problem Management efforts.
You'll Bring These Qualifications :
To be successful in this role, you should have a B.S. Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (work experience may substitute for degree with Hiring Manager's discretion). Applicants must be U.S. Citizens with an active DoD Secret security clearance. Required certifications include :
Willingness to work off-hours and participate in an on-call rotation for Incident Management is necessary. Candidates should possess extensive experience in engineering and troubleshooting networks, including routing, switching, MPLS, VPNs, and various routing and switching protocols. In-depth knowledge of IP network / subnet addressing and defense-in-depth principles is essential.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have :
Prior experience supporting the NGEN-NMCI program or any DoD program, as well as experience with Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM). Demonstrated NET / SEC DevOps experience and ITIL v3 / v4 certification / training would also be beneficial.

Pay Range : $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
