We are seeking an experienced and talented Associate Geologist to join our Southern California team in our Irvine office. This is an Exempt position.
Responsibilities:
•Develop client base, attend professional meetings or societies.
•Effectively communicate/coordinate/interact with senior level geologists, engineers, administrative staff and clients.
•Prepare scope of work and fee estimate proposals and write technical reports.
•Mentor/direct staff in completion of field/office work.
•Manage project budgets.
•Provide leadership in technical assessments, ensuring the application of advanced geological principles and methodologies.
•Contribute to strategic planning initiatives by providing geological expertise and insights into potential growth areas or emerging trends in the industry.
•Oversee QA/QC processes for technical reports and deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
•Develop and execute business development strategies to expand client base and identify new opportunities for growth.
•Ensure projects comply with all relevant environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
Qualifications:
•BS and/or MS degree in Geology or related Earth Science.
•Professional Geologist (PG) required, Engineering Geologist (CEG) license preferred.
•15 years professional geotechnical consulting experience.
•Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal/written communication, organizational, analytical and judgment skills.
•Working knowledge of southern California geology, development concepts, earthwork grading processes and exploratory techniques.
•Proficient in trenching/drilling techniques, logging and sampling of soil/bedrock and geologic mapping.
•Availability to travel to local job sites in the southern California region.
•Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale geotechnical projects from inception to completion, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
•Proficiency in advanced field techniques such as geophysical surveys, remote sensing, or GIS applications, enhancing project efficiency and accuracy.
•Proven ability to mentor and lead a team of geologists and technical staff, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.
•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
