Overview
We are seeking an experienced commercial concrete Estimator to join our team. We are a growing company and looking for a long term employee to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase of projects, utilizing their expertise in construction estimating and project management to ensure accurate pricing and cost control. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, contract management, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Candidate will have an office at our base in Hampton as well the option of working remote. Depending on the work load at the time.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Commercial construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize software tools such as and Excel for effective estimating and documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine project requirements and potential challenges.
- Conduct thorough market research to establish competitive pricing strategies.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, implementing cost control measures as needed.
- Assist in the development of bid proposals and contracts, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope and requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of cost control principles.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Excel and Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical skills, capable of interpreting complex data and making informed decisions.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and processes is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
