JOB TITLE: Mid-Level Geologist

Position Summary
The Mid-Level Geologist will coordinate remediation field efforts with the Site Supervisor and staff geologist and collaborate with the project team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Complete a variety of field services for radium environmental remediation activities and provide oversight of subcontractors.
- Plan and perform assigned tasks under limited supervision, such as collection of field data and environmental media, and following regulations, SOPs, and work plans.
- Contribute to managing project’s scope, goals, and field schedule.
- Preparing, writing, and reviewing technical field reports.
- Perform thorough documentation of field activities including daily field logs, sample collection forms, photographic documentation, GPS locations, sample tracking and management, chain of custodies, and review of field documentation.
Skills and Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Geology with 3 years of environmental experience including soil logging using ASTM D5434 and contaminated media sampling.
- Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills.
- Experience with project reporting, including compilation and interpretation of field and analytical data and the synthesizing of field notes for technical report narratives.
- Knowledge of CERCLA regulations
- Up to date knowledge of health and safety requirements, safety protocols, and quality assurance systems.
- Leadership skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Must possess and retain a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a Federal Background Check.
- OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER Training
Physical Demands
- Individuals must have the ability to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of workday and capability to move within the field. Any person in this position needs the ability to operate any field equipment used within the Construction Industry. There is a requirement to traverse multiple terrain types in outdoor weather conditions along with the ability to position self in a stoop, kneel, or crouch position. Individuals must be able to wear full construction PPE.
