QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holds or is eligible to hold a Vermont Teaching License.
- Master's degree in education or a related field.and working knowledge of WCSU and Vermont adopted standards required.
- olds or is eligible for the appropriate endorsement(s) for assignment.
- Experience working with students with a variety of academic and behavioral needs.
- Knowledge of MTSS and evidence-based interventions.
- Robust data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience facilitating meetings.
- Knowledge of special education law and procedures, including Section 504.
- Experience working in Special Ed or Academic Support
SUMMARY:
This position will manage and provide leadership for the school's multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) and facilitate meetings related to 504 plans and the Educational Support Team (EST). This person will coordinate aspects of the MTSS with the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee the MTSS process: This includes coordinating all three tiers of support - universal instruction for all students (Tier 1), targeted interventions for students with scores below benchmarks (Tier 2), and individualized or intensified interventions for students who continue to struggle (Tier 3).
- Manage 504 and EST processes & meetings: This includes scheduling and documenting meetings and ensuring that student data, work evidence, and required attendees are present.
- Coordinate interventions (WIN and FLEX blocks) with AST, regular & special education staff.
- Oversee the AimsWeb and Star360 LCAS tests three times a year.
- Run benchmark data meetings three times a year. Use data to identify areas where the MTSS process can be improved and to make recommendations for changes, including examining if core instruction meets the needs of at least 80% of students.
- Work with staff: Provide education on MTSS, evidence-based interventions, and data-based decision-making.
- Using Star360 & AimsWeb & classroom data, work with teachers and support staff to identify struggling students, develop and implement interventions, and monitor student progress.
- Communicate with parents and guardians about MTSS: Provide information to parents about the MTSS process and their child's progress.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices in MTSS: Attend conferences and workshops, read professional journals, and network with other MTSS professionals.

SUPERVISION AND EVALUATION;
Reports to and receives general administrative direction from the Administration Leadership Team. Evaluated by the School Principal and/or his/her administrator designee. May receive some technical direction from the Central Office Leadership Team.
