Main Purpose of the Role:
The Upper School Science Teacher collaborative Science Department committed to inspiring students from all over the world. Léman Manhattan is an international school, whose global outlook utilizes the International Baccalaureate Programme as a foundation for educating students to be the successful leaders of tomorrow. The US Science Teacher is an experienced and knowledgeable professional capable of teaching fundamental and higher level physics classes. The position will teach a combination of IB and non-IB classes.
Key Responsibilities:

- Exercise good classroom management with the use of fair and consistent standards and appropriate sanctions that are clearly articulated to the students.
- Encourage students to ask questions and to express their difficulties.
- Know and use a wide range of assessment strategies consistent with course content and objectives.
- Provide reports on student progress and maintain open communication with ensuring that these reports are accurate and constructive.
- Differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Identify students who need additional academic assistance and be able to refer such students appropriately.
- Provide opportunities for student expression using spoken, written, and electronic forms of communication.
- Provide a safe learning environment in which students can take intellectual risks.
- Use learning resources and technology to enhance lessons where appropriate.
- Develop student cooperation and tolerance through group work.
- Create an environment that fosters a global mindset.
- Create an atmosphere of mutual respect.
- Assist students in taking responsibility for their own actions.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum and instruction within the appropriate content area and/or grade level.
- Ability to monitor student progress and report information in a timely manner.
- Highly developed collaborative skills and the ability to work well with and through others.
- Complete a minimum of two duties as assigned by Division Head (number of duties may vary depending on role)
- Attends and participates in staff development programs, faculty events and meetings, and serves on staff committees as required (i.e. teacher in-service days).
- Attend during and afterschool functions in support of school and community
- Complete responsibilities as assigned by Division Head based on student and school needs (e.g. test proctoring)
Education:
- Master's Degree in Education
- At least 3 years teaching experience in high-performing school preferred
Experience:
- Experience interpreting and using multiple forms of data to inform instructions
- Knowledge and experience developing and assessing curriculum
- Experience with integration of instructional technology
- Excellent written communication, public speaking, and presenting skills
Salary : $66,000 - $130,000
