Responsibilities & what we are looking for
The AP Specialist processes, records, verifies, and pays invoices for goods and services on a timely basis.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily processing of overhead invoices into the accounts payable system.
- Process, record, verify, and pay invoices for goods and services on a timely basis
- Prepare and audit payments sent via check, ACH, and wires
- Respond to vendor queries, reconcile vendor statements, and communicate with vendors regarding payment status
- Manages and maintains positive internal customer and external business partner relationships.
- Assist in month-end closing process for AP work queues
- Customer and customer credit master record maintenance
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
- Complete supplier credit applications
- Collaborating with other departments and locations regarding vendor payments
- Sort and distribute mail
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
- High school diploma is required
- Degree in accounting, a plus
- Minimum of 3-5 years previous bookkeeping and accounting
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus
- Focus on delivering exceptional customer service experience for both internal customers and external business partners
- Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize
- Flexible, adaptable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Positive can-do attitude
- Team player
