Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance duties relative to property, equipment, physical structure, and grounds.
Essential Functions
- Services, maintains, and repairs air compressors, packaging equipment, tape machines, minor office furniture repairs or alterations, clean/replace ventilation system filters, replacement of light bulbs including emergency lighting
- Performs daily maintenance of forklifts, mowers, tractors and material handling equipment as needed according to company standards
- Performs conveyor maintenance which would include but not be limited to: photo-eye adjustment, chain adjustment or replacements, line shaft coupler replacement, lubrication in an orderly and timely fashion minimizing delays and downtime
- Performs limited maintenance on scales, dock levelers, plumbing, electrical repairs, fire protection pumps, and equipment
- Participates in exterior of building and grounds work including landscaping, grass mowing, and physical parts inventory
- Works closely with Facilities on improvement projects
- Maintains orderly housekeeping of assigned area
- Adheres to all company safety rules and regulations, including tag out procedures
- Maintains strict confidentiality
- Performs other duties and/or tasks as assigned
Skills
- Attention to detail: Demonstrable ability to perform thorough and accurate tasks. Ensures accuracy while achieving consistent and precise work product.
- Ability to work well in a team
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance on all equipment
- Understanding of operational characteristics of conveyor systems and sub-assemblies, including PCU, control panel configuration, sensors, brakes, transfer, drive motors, and gearboxes
- Mechanical skills
- Pneumatic control
- Knowledge of electricity, carpenter, and plumbing skills
- Time management skills
Required Qualifications and Education
- High School or equivalent
- 2-4 years of experience in maintenance, warehouse environment preferred
Physical Demands
