Job Overview:
The law office is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented case manager to support the preparation of client Medicaid applications, review financial documents, and provide general administrative and legal support. This role involves frequent communication with clients, both written and verbal, as well as assisting with drafting documents, managing case files with constant support to the attorney and legal team. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. Comfort with digital management of documents and files is essential as the law firm is paper light.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and submitting client Medicaid applications
- Extensive communication with clients to gather necessary information and documentation
- Review and analyze financial records as part of the application process
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Provide administrative support, including drafting reports, petitions, and other documents
- Draft correspondence and manage case records
- Coordinate with attorneys, court personnel, and clients as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior experience in Medicaid, case management, or legal support role preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, Outlook) and database management software is strongly preferred
- Must have the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Experience reviewing financial documents is a plus
- Empathetic and caring about assisting people through a very stressful period in their lives.
- Self-motivated and capable of working within a team.
- Familiarity with government health care assistance programs and regulations is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn new processes and procedures as required.
- Ability to handle e-mails and telephone calls from clients and any outside entity providing information and/or services to the client.
- Communicate with attorneys routinely on the status of each case and identify any problems or concerns that may impede the filing of a Medicaid application.
- Provide support to office members, as needed, for various tasks to accomplish clients’ objectives.
- Must be proactive, and able to manage tasks in a team environment
Salary based upon experience and paid PTO/vacation offered.
Availability of 401K Benefits following 1 year of employment.
