Job Summary:
As a Personal Care Aide (PCA) with Lemon Home Care, you will provide compassionate, non-medical care to our clients, assisting them with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Our PCAs play a crucial role in helping clients maintain their independence and quality of life at home.
You’ll work directly with clients in their homes, offering support with personal care tasks, light housekeeping, and companionship. If you're passionate about caregiving, have a positive attitude, and want to make a difference in people's lives, this role is for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, grooming, and mobility support.
- Provide support with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and medication reminders.
- Offer companionship and engage in meaningful conversation with clients to reduce loneliness and improve their quality of life.
- Assist clients with cognitive impairments (e.g., dementia, mental disabilities) by ensuring they remain comfortable, safe, and oriented.
- Use lifting equipment (Hoyer Lift, Sit-to-Stand, etc.) when necessary, ensuring the client's safety during transfers.
- Monitor and report changes in the client's condition, including new symptoms like skin rashes, difficulty breathing, anxiety, or reduced appetite.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for the client, ensuring all infection control procedures and PPE requirements are followed.
- Communicate effectively with family members and supervisors regarding the client's well-being and care plan.
- Adhere to company policies for client care, including emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- PSS Certification required for Maine applicants (LNA, CNA certifications are also accepted). PSS Training is offered
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client homes within a defined service area.
- Experience caring for clients with cognitive impairments is a plus.
- Comfortable working with clients of various needs, including those with disabilities, smokers/non-smokers, and clients with pets.
- Availability for holidays and emergency shifts is preferred.
- Ability to work day shifts (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM) with flexibility.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
- Must provide Medical Clearance and TB Skin Test within 12 months.
