Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mentor to join our team. As a Mentor & Companion Partner, you will provide guidance and support to individuals in need of assistance,. Your role will involve helping our yound adults with daily activities, encouraging skill building in meal preparation, community outings, social planning & engaging in enriching activities and sports such as hiking, swimming, rock climbing and kayaking and ensuring their overall well-being. If you have a drive to make a positive impact on the lives of others and possess the necessary skills, we encourage you to apply.
Duties:
- Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to individuals in a supported home
- Assist residents with daily activities such working, volunteering, attending college, socializing & pursuing life's goals all while modeling and practicing a healthy lifestyle, active participation in the community: enjoying yoga, kayaking, hiking, attending the creative arts & more...
- Monitor and communicate daily activities and outings with progam manager
- Extremely Reliable, responsible & caring with exellent communication skills
- Good with Technology
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote a safe and comfortable environment
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Ensure adherence to robust programming protocol including respectful kind relations with residents, other team members & families
Requirements:
- Previous experience mentoring life skills for autistic yound adults is preferred
- Knowledge of caregiving techniques and best practices
- Ability to effectively communicate with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals
- Strong observation skills to monitor changes in resident behavior or health status
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others
