Lemontree Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and friendly Food Service Worker to join our team. The Food Service Worker will assist in the preparation, serving, and cleaning of food and beverages, while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment for guests and staff. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation and Service:
- Assist in the preparation of food items such as sandwiches, salads, soups, beverages, etc.
- Serve food and beverages to customers in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring portion sizes and presentation meet quality standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and dishwashers as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food prep areas, ensuring all food is stored according to safety guidelines.
- Customer Service:
- Provide friendly, efficient, and courteous service to guests.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, or special requests with professionalism.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by ensuring food quality and service meet or exceed expectations.
- Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas.
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure the safety of all food served.
- Dispose of waste and recyclables in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the food service area, including dining rooms and serving stations.
- Inventory and Stocking:
- Assist in stocking food items and supplies for service.
- Help monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors when items need to be replenished.
- Ensure food storage areas are clean and organized according to health and safety regulations.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all company and regulatory policies regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
- Maintain knowledge of food safety standards, and follow proper procedures for handling, storing, and preparing food.
- Report any safety concerns or maintenance issues to management.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Food handler certification or ability to obtain within a certain time frame (if applicable).
- Experience:
- Previous experience in food service, customer service, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Ability to follow instructions and handle food safely.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move food supplies, trays, or dishes as required.
Working Conditions
- Work in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, noise, and kitchen equipment.
- May be required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays depending on the facility's schedule.
- Must be able to work with a diverse team and interact with guests in a professional and courteous manner.
