Regional Security Services Director
Lemontree Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Security Services Director to oversee and manage security operations across multiple healthcare facilities within a designated region. The role is responsible for safeguarding people, property, and assets, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and ensuring that all security protocols align with the organization's goals for patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Lead and manage security operations across healthcare facilities in the region, including hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare locations. Supervise a team of security personnel, ensuring they are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to perform their duties.
- Strategic Planning & Coordination: Develop, implement, and review security policies, procedures, and plans to ensure a proactive and comprehensive approach to security risk management. Work closely with regional operations and local leadership to identify security vulnerabilities and recommend solutions.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all security protocols and procedures meet regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA). Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with healthcare security standards and mitigate security risks.
- Incident Response & Crisis Management: Oversee response to security incidents and emergencies, including but not limited to medical emergencies, security breaches, theft, and workplace violence. Lead the development of incident response plans, and manage investigations into security-related incidents.
- Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for security staff to enhance performance and ensure up-to-date knowledge of security practices, healthcare regulations, and emergency response techniques.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage the regional security budget and resources effectively, ensuring the efficient allocation of personnel and security technologies.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as hospital administrators, HR, and legal teams, to ensure effective communication and coordination on security-related matters.
- Security Technology Oversight: Manage the implementation and maintenance of security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems. Ensure that technology is effectively integrated into daily operations.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular reports on security incidents, trends, and risk assessments for senior leadership. Analyze data to identify patterns and areas for improvement in security operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or specialized security certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) is preferred.
- Experience:
o At least 7-10 years of experience in security management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
o Experience in healthcare or a similarly regulated industry is highly preferred.
o Proven ability to manage security operations across multiple locations or regions.
- Skills & Competencies:
o Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk management, and crisis management in a healthcare environment.
o Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to handle high-stress situations with a calm and strategic approach.
o Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
o Knowledge of security technology and systems used in the healthcare industry.
- Certifications:
o Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) preferred.
o CPR and First Aid certified or willingness to obtain.
Working Conditions:
- Travel required within the designated region to visit facilities, attend meetings, and oversee operations.
- Availability to respond to emergencies and critical incidents, including after-hours or on weekends.
- May require occasional work in high-stress or hazardous environments during emergency situations.
