Patient Service Worker Supervisor
Lemontree Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Patient Service Worker Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the patient food service team. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of nutritious and appetizing meals to patients while maintaining high standards of service, safety, and compliance. The supervisor will lead a team of patient service workers, manage meal distribution, and ensure adherence to healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supervision and Leadership:
o Supervise, mentor, and train a team of Patient Service Workers to ensure high performance, safety, and quality service.
o Conduct regular team meetings to review policies, address concerns, and encourage team collaboration.
o Evaluate employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and assist in professional development opportunities.
· Patient Meal Service:
o Oversee the assembly and delivery of patient meals in accordance with dietary requirements, preferences, and special requests.
o Ensure accurate portion control and meal presentation standards are met.
o Coordinate with the dietitian and clinical team to ensure that patients' dietary needs are met promptly and accurately.
· Quality Control and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, including food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
o Monitor food temperatures, storage, and handling to meet healthcare industry standards and company policies.
o Address any patient or staff complaints regarding meal quality or service and work towards timely resolutions.
· Inventory and Ordering:
o Assist in the monitoring of food supplies and inventory levels.
o Collaborate with the Food Services Manager to place orders for food and supplies as needed.
o Ensure proper stock rotation and minimize waste through effective inventory management.
· Safety and Sanitation:
o Ensure that all food service operations are conducted in accordance with sanitation and safety guidelines.
o Oversee the cleanliness of food service areas, equipment, and storage rooms.
o Report any safety hazards and implement corrective measures.
· Communication and Coordination:
o Act as the primary point of contact for patient meal requests and special dietary needs.
o Collaborate with other departments, including nursing and dietary, to address patient concerns and ensure high-quality care.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary or healthcare-related certification is a plus.
· Previous supervisory experience in a food services environment, preferably within a healthcare setting.
· Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and healthcare regulations (HIPAA, OSHA).
· Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
