Lemontree Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Patient Service Worker to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all patients receive high-quality, nutritious meals in a timely and efficient manner, following the dietary needs and preferences of each patient. The Food Patient Service Worker will work closely with the dietary team, nursing staff, and patients to provide exceptional food service within a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
· Patient Meal Service: Prepare, assemble, and deliver patient meals according to established menus and dietary restrictions. Ensure meals meet specific patient dietary needs, including allergies and preferences.
· Food Quality & Safety: Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storing, and serving of food. Ensure food is served at appropriate temperatures and presented attractively.
· Patient Interaction: Communicate directly with patients regarding meal preferences, concerns, and dietary needs. Provide excellent customer service and address any issues or questions patients may have about their meals.
· Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with dietitians, nurses, and kitchen staff to accommodate any changes in patient diets, orders, or preferences. Collaborate to provide the best possible patient care through food service.
· Inventory & Supply Management: Assist in monitoring food inventory and supplies, ensuring the availability of necessary items for patient meals. Report any shortages or issues to the Food Service Supervisor.
· Cleaning & Sanitation: Follow all established cleaning protocols for food service areas, utensils, and equipment. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
· Compliance with Regulations: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, hospital policies, and dietary guidelines. Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained during meal service.
· Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager to support the efficient operation of the department.
Qualifications:
· Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare setting, is a plus.
· Skills & Abilities:
o Strong communication skills and ability to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
o Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation procedures.
o Attention to detail, particularly with regard to patient dietary needs and meal preparation.
o Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude and high level of customer service.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks such as food assembly and serving.
Work Environment:
This position requires working in a hospital or healthcare facility, where exposure to food allergens and medical environments is common. Standard working hours may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the facility's needs.
