Lemontree Healthcare is seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Manager with at least 3 years of relevant payroll processing experience. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees across multiple states. This role involves handling a variety of payroll tasks, including data entry, timesheet verification, tax calculations, compliance, and payroll reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Handle multiple payroll tasks in a timely and efficient manner, including entering and verifying employee timesheets and making necessary corrections.
- Timesheet Review: Ensure accuracy and proper posting of employee timesheets, ensuring alignment with company policies.
- Employee Records Management: Update payroll records to reflect employee changes, such as job title changes, exemptions, deductions, and benefits updates.
- Payroll Reporting: Prepare detailed reports summarizing earnings, withholdings, tax deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages.
- Tax Calculation: Calculate payroll liabilities, including federal and state income taxes, Social Security taxes, and employer payments for Social Security, unemployment, and worker’s compensation.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee queries regarding payroll.
- Expense Reimbursement: Review and process employee expense reimbursement requests, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Compliance: Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local tax laws, including timely filing of quarterly wage and tax reports.
- Payroll Operations Maintenance: Maintain payroll operations in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, with strong knowledge of spreadsheets and payroll processes.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of payroll concepts, withholding tax compliance, and multi-state payroll laws.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive payroll data confidentially.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to address employee payroll inquiries professionally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with payroll software and systems.
- Experience with multi-state tax filings and wage reporting.
- Basic knowledge of human resources processes and compliance.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position based at the corporate office in Metairie, Louisiana.
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet payroll deadlines.
