What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychotherapist, Private Practice position at Lena Agree JD, PsyD, LLC?
Job Overview
I’m a solo practitioner with decades of experience. I’ve learned from some of the best experts in the field worldwide, and developed a unique orientation that I’ve found to be extraordinarily effective. I’m expanding my practice and looking for hard-working, high-achieving therapists, who are deeply committed to becoming uniquely competent practitioners. I offer an exceptionally instructional environment, in which you’ll learn skills including:
· Distinguishing between doing therapy and just talking
· Incorporating early memories and dreams to deepen therapy
· Understanding the role of attachment at every age
· Creating real safety in the roomthrough mentalizing
· Using the Gottman Method and Mentalization-Informed Systemic Therapy with couples and families
This is a W-2 job with the independence and flexibility of an independent contractor. I don’t accept insurance, which means you’ll be paid consistently and reliably in amounts that are easily verifiable, and your administrative burden will be minimal.
I’m looking for individuals who share my work strong ethic and commitment to excellence. This is not a corporate position, where you’re a cog in someone else’s wheel, and are over-paid to be complacent, with no upward mobility. I’ll teach you how to be a competent, successful therapist, who can stand on his/her own two feet and rise above the competition.
You will have your own beautiful, spacious office in Birmingham, weekly supervision, case conferences and as much mentorship as you need, as well as patient referrals. I estimate about 3-4 months to accumulate enough patients for a full load (25-35 per week). I respect that you are learning, and will never ask you to provide services outside of your comfort zone.
Responsibilities
- Conduct therapy sessions primarily in-person (including brief treatment plans and informal assessments)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with laws and ethics
- Conduct 25-35 45-minute sessions per week (or the time equivalent)
- Participate in professional development
- Use EHR system for scheduling, notes, etc.
- Charge patients on daily basis and draft monthly invoices
Requirements
- Master’s degree or above in psychology or related field
- Valid license to practice psychotherapy in Michigan
- Knowledge of diagnostic and billing codes and procedures
- At least one (1) year of psychotherapy experience
- Knowledge of at least one psychodynamic/psychoanalytic school of thought, such as self psychology, object relations, etc., and respect for the ubiquitous role of the unconscious
- Ideally, you’re in therapy yourself
I will be hiring no more than seven therapists. We’ll share a humble, collegial environment, where we can learn from one another, especially from our mistakes, and have fun doing it.
If you want to be a rockstar, and are willing to put in the work, I will help you get there.
