Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality resident care in Skilled Nursing Facility. This role requires a thorough understanding of wound care protocol & procedures, physical examinations, and medication administration, along with the ability to care for residents efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) in IL
- Certification BLS (Basic Life Support)
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive resident care, including medication administration and basic life support.
- Conduct thorough resident assessments in Skilled Nursing Facility
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans, ensuring effective communication with residents and families.
- Utilize EHR systems for accurate documentation and patient tracking, while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in catheterization, tube feeding, and airway management as needed, particularly in geriatric and long-term care environments.
Qualifications
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center or Ambulatory but not required.
- Proficiency in diagnostic evaluation techniques and physical examination skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and the ability to interpret results effectively.
- Experience in geriatrics is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of senior care practices is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices in nursing.
- Proficient in medication administration and monitoring resident responses.
- Experience in skilled nursing care settings is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of emergency medicine practices and protocols.
- Strong understanding of basic life support techniques.
- Familiarity with care plans
- Solid understanding of anatomy to inform resident assessments.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with coding systems and electronic health record systems (e.g., Point Click Care)
- Knowledge of treatment protocols & procedures
