Position: Secondary History Teacher
Classification: Full-Time Salary Exempt
Reports To: Head of School

Position Summary:
Lenawee Christian School is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered Secondary History Teacher who is excited to disciple students through engaging instruction and biblical integration. The ideal candidate will help students understand and interpret historical events through a Christian worldview, cultivating critical thinking and a love for truth.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach high school history courses, which may include U.S. History, World History, Government, or other related subjects
Develop lesson plans that foster inquiry-based learning, promote student engagement, and integrate biblical principles
Encourage thoughtful discussion and critical analysis of historical events and their impact on today’s world
Support the mission of the school through godly mentorship and participation in extra-curricular activities and student ministry groups
Qualifications:
Christian Faith:
Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Adherence to Christian principles and values in both personal and professional life.
Educational Background/Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in education or a related field from an accredited college or university
Current State of Michigan teacher certification preferred; candidates eligible for certification or able to work toward State of Michigan and ACSI certification will also be considered
Passion for helping students grow spiritually, academically, and personally
Preferred Experience:
Experience teaching at the middle or high school level
Training or experience in Christian education
Ability to integrate biblical truth into history
