Position Summary:
Lenawee Christian School is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and dedicated Math Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a love for teaching and for Jesus Christ, as well as a strong desire to inspire students to think critically about math and its relationship to the world. This position is an excellent opportunity for educators who believe in the calling of the teaching profession and are passionate about integrating their faith with learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra II to students in middle and high school.
Develop engaging and effective lesson plans that promote inquiry-based learning while integrating Christian faith and biblical principles.
Foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills within a supportive and challenging learning environment.
Build meaningful, godly relationships with students through daily interactions, mentoring, and supervision of extracurricular activities and student ministry groups.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide educational initiatives and faith-based activities.
Provide academic support and encouragement to students, helping them succeed both in and outside the classroom.
Attend faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related events as needed.
Demonstrate strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills.
Qualifications:
Christian Faith:
Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Adherence to Christian principles and values in both personal and professional life.
Educational Background/Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Certification by the State of Michigan (or willingness to work toward Michigan and ACSI certification).
A passion for integrating Christian faith with academic subjects and a desire to mentor students spiritually.
Previous teaching experience in middle or high school math (preferred).
Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment.
Ability to work well with students, parents, and colleagues in a Christ-centered community.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Mathematics or Secondary Education.
Experience teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra II at the middle or high school level.
Prior experience working in Christian education or a faith-based school setting.
Willingness to take on leadership roles in extracurricular activities and student ministry groups.
