What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grants Accountant position at Lenawee Intermediate School District - MI?
SUMMARY:
Responsible for post-award local, state and federal grant accounting to ensure compliance with funding source administrative guidelines, timely receipt of revenue, accurate submission of financial reports, A-133 Federal Audit requirements and orderly closure of grant-funded projects.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Associate Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or 5 years work experience in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully on the telephone, in person or while training
- Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve customer problems, establish priorities, meet deadlines and handle a wide variety of situations with professionalism
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to take initiative and work independently or in a team environment
- Flexible schedule
Preferred:
- Associate Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting and 5 years work experience in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Experience working with Michigan Electronic Grants System (MEGS)
- Fund accounting and federal grant accounting experience
